Dr. Bobby Haney
Do you, or does anyone you know, struggle with
the practical, every day realities of living a life of meaning and
purpose? I was brought up in an environment that encouraged
me to “be anything I wanted to be.” It is the typical mantra
of the modern American culture.
After years of struggle, and
in rebellion against my Christian roots, I (re)discovered that there
is meaning and purpose in life through commitment to the person
and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is my desire to share what
I have learned with others with the hope that they may avoid at least
some of the heartache involved in missing out on the “abundant life”
spoken of by Jesus.
I am married with one daughter and am a dentist
in private practice in Waxahachie, Texas, where my family and
I have lived and worked for over twenty years. I serve
as a lay minister in my church teaching Bible study, leading seminars
and small groups, as well as participating in the music ministry.
I
would love the opportunity to share a talk or seminar with your group
on any of the following topics:
Organizing Your Business Day - Do you struggle to "keep a handle on
things" during your workday? While surprises are inevitable,
a plan of action to be prepared and having a routine in place will
lend structure to help ease your mind. This talk gives usable
tips and helps to smoothe out the wrinkles of the "daily grind."
This
talk is appropriate for any audience.
Just What Are My Priorities? - Balancing family, work, church, recreation,
etc., etc. can be a challenge, to say the least! Understanding
what is most important in our lives helps make clear where other
things should fall in line. This lesson teaches the Biblical
principles that show us where our priorities need to be.

is appropriate for any audience.
The Miracle of Adoption - She was a gift from God. My wife and
I are blessed to be the parents of a adopted daughter who immediately
became "my sunshine on a spring day." Our story can encourage
would-be adoptive parents and give hope to women who may be expecting
an unwanted child.
This talk is appropriate for any audience.
The Gifts of the Spirit - Do you know which spiritual gifts you have?
All believers have at least one, but sadly, many people have no idea
which they have. This lesson outlines nine motivational gifts
and surveys the listeners to help them determine which are theirs.
When these are known, effective ministry can be put into action.

Discovering My Ministry - Do you know what the secret to success is?
This seminar teaches believers, in an intense but exciting session,
their purpose in life. Using the SHAPE principle developed by
Dr. Rick Warren, we can learn the true meaning of success.
This all
day seminar is appropriate for Christian audiences and is best taught
in a workshop/retreat setting.
The Personality Puzzle - Do you live with, work with, or have a relationship
with someone who is different from you? This talk helps people
identify their basic personality type and many times recognize them
in others. When you understand some basic characteristics
of the four personality types and understand the strengths and weaknesses
of each, you can then optimize your relationships with others.
This
talk is appropriate for all audiences.
Your New Heart - Do you live the abundant life promised by Jesus in
the Gospel of John? Most of us just muddle through our daily
lives rarely experiencing the blessing of living the life Jesus promised.
This seminar, based on the book, Waking the Dead, by John Eldredge,
shows believers that they do indeed have the capacity to live as a
"new creation." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
This all day seminar is appropriate
for Christian audiences and is best taught in a workshop/retreat setting.
The Christian Professional in Business - Is it possible to combine
full-time commitment to Christ with a full-time job as a business
person? This situation has been a dilemma for many people over
the years. I have learned, by personal experience, that it is
possible and practical to "let your light shine" even (and especially)
in this secular setting. I can share insights and inspiration
to help others do the same.
This talk is appropriate for Christian
audiences.
Powerful Praying -
Do you know how important prayer is in bringing God's grace
and power to bear upon our human condition? Unfortunately, many
of us either do not pray at all (or very seldom), or when we do it
is simply by rote and ineffectual. This talk/seminar teaches
the elements of prayer and trains learners to be powerful intercessors
for God's kingdom.
This talk/seminar is appropriate for Christian audiences
and can be presented as a 60 minute lesson or in a workshop/retreat
setting.
What's Your Problem?
- Money, Sex, and Power - We are hindered in growing our relationship
with God by sins's grip on our lives. This talk summarizes "the
big three" temptations of a humanistic worldview and gives practical
applications for overcoming their influence.
This talk is appropriate
for Christian audiences but is especially intended for men's groups.
We Are At War! - Our hearts and minds are under attack. Satan
will do whatever he can to keep us from living in obedience and faith
in God. Yet we are often unaware and unarmed. This
talk explains the type of war we are facing as believers and strategies
to employ that will bring us victory.
This talk is appropriate for Christian audiences.
Personal Discipleship - A major pivotal moment in my life was the
point I began to schedule a daily time alone with God. This
often neglected discipline is essential to a believer's growth in
his or her relationship with God. This lesson provides parameters
for implementing a daily devotional time alone with God including
prayer, Bible reading and meditation, and journaling.
